Last month we got to explore the North Cascades with Aaron & Kelsey (and their close family) to celebrate their wedding. The day began with a delicious home-cooked brunch at the main lodge at Ovenell’s Heritage Inn Log Cabins. **Huge shoutout to Ovenell’s for being so awesome and hospitable! Totally recommend this place to anyone looking for reasonably priced accommodations in the southern part of the North Cascades.**

After brunch, a few heartfelt toasts, and a first dance, everyone headed back to their cabins to change into their hiking gear. For us, the adventure was just beginning. We got into our 4WD cars and headed up to the Park Butte trailhead. About two thirds of the way up the hike, we found the perfect ceremony spot with beautiful Mount Baker in the background. Everyone cried and laughed their way through the ceremony. It was so evident how much this family cared for the bride and groom – they hiked up several steep switchbacks for them afterall!

After the ceremony, we (along with the photogapher – Mollie from Between the Pine) hiked the final mile to the fire lookout. A majestic sunset was waiting for us at the top. Seriously – this was epic status. We took full advantage of the beauty and stayed up their even after the sun went down. We had to hike back down with the light of our headlamps, but it was so worth it!
